The Cak is a pear shaped instrument very similar to a guitar (as you can see in the picture on the left how similar they are). The Cak has four stings and three cords (D5, G4, B4). Unlike normal string instruments the Cak's strings are made of steel. The first version of a Cak was small like a banjo and eventually became like a guitar shaped instrument over time. The Cak is played on a stand not like you would play a guitar. The Cak is originally from the island of Rote, East Tenggare.
